So during the meeting yesterday for Toronto Youth Development.  We had discussed about the curriculum.  This was important to me, since all my work from last year for the grade 8s, using Animal Farm as the novel study, was scrapped. ><  I was so angry after that.  Since the book had previously been approved, and I had spent 3 WEEKS working on the lesson plans for it.  URGH!

In any case, my boss gave a (fairly) logical explanation for why it should not be taught.  He thought that discussions on communism and such might be too sensitive of a topic to be taught at a non-profit organization. *shrugs*

The book that was suggested this year  was THE HUNGER GAMES.  Now I have heard a lot about this book, and certain people recommending it to me.  So it was on my uber long list of books i “have to read”.  (ref. to picture above of my bookshelf, part of it anyhow).

So I went around to different stores.  BMV didnt have it, since it was so popular. Chapters had it, but it was expensive.  HMV had it 20% off, but they were sold out of hard copy (i dont like soft copy much).  So I didnt end up buying it.  But when I got home and told my brother about it.  He went online and found it for me. (^.^)  YAY!
Now I can read it on my ipad! woot!

YAY to internet!

I’ll update later on what I think of the book.
